Major Events

  • Carnival
  • This is a major summer event in Hedge End for many years. It starts with a series of small events during the 1st week in July, culminating in a procession of decorated floats, followed by a fete, with a funfair in Greta Park.

Big Hedge End events go here, whether we organise them or not. This includes Remembrance Sunday, Fireworks, in addition to those mentioned below.

    Christmas Lights

This was one of our last significant events in 2009.

    Christmas Concert

In 2009, for the first time, the Town Council helped fund a Christmas concert organised by the St George Fest Committee in conjunction with Wildern School. This is part of the build up to Hedge End having its own theatre at Wildern School.

    St George Fest

A group of enthusiasts started this festival in honour of St George, the patron saint of England in 2009. Plans are afoot to repeat this in 2010. The programme so far is:

    Thu 22nd April
Folk music concert at Wildern School
    Fri 23nd April
    Banquet in 2000 Centre
    Sat 24th April
    Market, Music, dance, street theatre
    Civil war reenactment
    Barn Dance in Village Hall
