The most important part of our local government, certainly in terms of money spent per head of population, is Hampshire County Council. They are responsible for some of our more expensive services such as Education, Social Services and Highways.
Other services are run by non-elected bodies. Examples are Fire, Police and Health.
The whole County Council is up for re-election in May, 2013.
Hedge End has two elected members on the County Council.
